What is the typical recovery timeline?

Recovery varies by procedure and individual, but a general guideline is:

First 48-72 hours: Peak swelling and discomfort. You will need help at home.

1-2 weeks: Sutures or drains may be removed. Swelling and bruising begin to significantly subside. You may return to desk work or sedentary activities.

3-6 weeks: You can gradually resume light physical activity. Most of the swelling will have resolved, but some may persist.

3-6 months and beyond: Residual swelling fully disappears, scars begin to mature and soften, and you will see the final results of your surgery.
